Author Bae: Inspiring the World One Page at a Time
Nai, it's great to have you here. Let's start by getting to know you better. Can you tell us a bit about yourself? What are some of your passions and interests outside of writing?
Thank you so much for having me, I’m happy to be here. Well, I am a mom of three beautiful children. Outside of my love for writing, I also have a deep passion for music. I'm goal-driven and enjoy expressing my creativity. Oh, and I'm the president of the Hood Lovers Society.
That's wonderful. Now, let's dive into your writing journey. How long have you been writing, and what inspired you to publish this particular book?
I've been writing professionally since 2018, but my journey began with a love for poetry and writing for leisure. As for this particular book, it was sparked by new love in my life. I didn't have a specific plan; I just knew I wanted to craft a story about fate and the magic of taking a chance on a new relationship.
It's evident that love played a significant role in your book. Who do you envision as the readers for this book, and what's the main message you hope they'll take away?
I wrote this book for the girls who fall in love in three days, lol. I want the readers, especially the women to know that love doesn’t see time. This book was meant to show that it’s okay to put yourself out there and allow yourself to fall for someone without allowing time to dictate what that looks like.
Becoming an author is a remarkable journey. How has it personally and creatively impacted your life?
It's been an incredible ride. Becoming an author has allowed me the freedom to express myself in my rarest form if that makes sense. It’s allowed me to enhance my creative side as I tap into different characters and scenarios. It’s also a beautiful escape when needed.
Selling your first copy must have been a special moment. Can you tell us how it felt when you sold that first book?
Proud. That's the only word that can describe that moment, especially when the process can be challenging at times. That sense of, “you did that, girl” is unmatched.
Overcoming fear is often a big part of an author's journey. How have you managed to quiet those fears and move forward boldly?
Hmmm, I would say my confidence. It’s not always easy but at the end of the day, I stand ten toes behind anything I put out. I remind myself that I’m a great storyteller and this is just surface compared to where I’m going.
That's an inspiring perspective. What advice do you have for those who want to write a book but are held back by fear?
I would say, don’t let fear control your creativity. Whatever story you may have, someone needs to hear it in your own words.

Yes, I'll be attending the Literary Gem Awards & K. Renee Experience book expo in May 2024. It's a fantastic opportunity to meet fellow authors and book enthusiasts.
