Author Bae: Unlocking the Power of Genuine Connections

Samantha, tell us more about yourself. How did your journey lead you to become "The Friendship Enthusiast"?
Well, I've always had a heart for friendships and a desire to bring people together. As I've grown in my faith, I realized that my purpose is deeply intertwined with friendships. Through my own experiences, I learned what it takes to create and maintain pure, meaningful friendships. Friendship has played a significant role in shaping my life and who I am today.
It's clear that you're on a mission to redefine friendships. Can you tell us more about Pure Friendships and the non-profit extension you've created?
Absolutely! My mission is to help people cultivate healthier friendships in a world that sometimes seems to thrive on division. Pure Friendships is my way of addressing the importance of nurturing genuine connections. But I also recognized the need to impact young people in a more targeted way, especially in the education system. This led to the creation of a non-profit extension that focuses on the impact of positive friendships on scholastic achievements.
Your background involves working in child safety and welfare. How does Pure Friendships aim to change the value of friendships, especially among young people in the education system?
Peer-to-peer relationships have a significant influence on students, affecting their performance academically and socially. Pure Friendships is all about incorporating life-changing principles and practical steps for school systems to promote positive friendships.
Our goal is to change how interpersonal relationships impact the scholastic achievements of students. I've witnessed the need for this firsthand while working in the Miami-Dade County Public School System.
Your journey has evolved from child welfare to motivational speaking. How has becoming an author impacted your life?
Becoming an author has been a game-changer. It's shown me that my voice and my experiences are needed in this space. Writing has confirmed my calling as a scribe, and it's opened doors to impact more lives than I could have imagined. It's allowed me to tell my story with grace, even the difficult parts. I've found my voice and purpose through writing.
How has becoming an author pushed you out of your comfort zone, and what advice do you have for those who feel stuck?
Writing has allowed me to open up and let God speak through me. It's given me the ability to communicate messages that I never thought I could. My advice to those feeling stuck is simple: just start writing. Don't worry about editing in the beginning; that's the last step. Just get those thoughts on paper.
What marketing tips can you share with other authors to get their message out there?
Treat your book like a calling card, a business card, and a topic of discussion. Make sure your book leads in your conversations, whether it's at the airport, on a stage, or in any setting. Don't be afraid to talk about your book because there are countless people who still don't know you exist.
You've used your gift of writing to create opportunities for yourself. How has your book opened doors for you?
My book has opened opportunities for speaking at conferences, workshops, virtual events, retreats, and panel discussions. It has allowed me to connect with entrepreneurs, small business owners, and educational spaces, making a significant impact.

What advice do you have for someone who wants to write a book but is held back by fear?

Just do it. Imagine someone out there needs what you have to survive. Your story is a cure for people who are waiting for your words. It's necessary, and you have the cure for those who are seeking it.

Do you have any upcoming events, programs, or ways for supporters to connect with you?

Yes, we're expanding my latest project called "Friendly Hills Academy", focusing on helping leaders and small business owners create friendly working environments through professional friendships. I'll be hosting workshops and opportunities to help you reap the benefits of positive friendships. To stay updated, be sure to add your name to both my personal and professional friendship lists at www.purefriendships.com/linktree.
