Aketa, can you tell us more about your book, "I Saw Him First"?
Certainly! "I Saw Him First" is a compilation of detailed writings and daily devotional downloads designed for readers of all levels, whether they're new or seasoned in their faith. It's a catalyst for experiencing growth through reading and meditating on God's word.
Each daily entry provides impactful teachings and tutorials with a dual purpose: first, to deepen the love and understanding of God's Word, and second, to prepare and condition the hearts and minds of readers to seek and see Him first in all they pursue.
What inspired you to write this book?
The inspiration for "I Saw Him First" came at a critical time during the height of the Covid pandemic. The world was in turmoil and transition, and people were experiencing uncertainty. It was during this challenging period that I felt compelled to write about God's love, grace, and compassion for all of mankind. The aim was to provide comfort and solace to the hearts and minds of all people through the daily devotionals.
How has becoming an author impacted your life, and what lessons have you learned?
Becoming a first-generation author has allowed me to be a visionary not just for myself but for my family and peers. My children, in particular, witnessed a dream manifest into a reality. The generational impact and legacy of this experience will remain forever, teaching them to pursue their dreams, even if they've never seen it done by anyone else. It's taught me that we can break barriers for ourselves and future generations.
Overcoming the fear of writing and sharing your work can be challenging. How did you conquer this fear?
I believe that overcoming fear is all about taking action. Even if you're scared, you need to start and "do it." As you progress, celebrate the small victories along the way. When your work is published for the world to see, you'll walk with confidence and freedom. I welcome all feedback and reviews about the book. I take it to heart to improve and make the next project even more impactful.
What advice would you offer to aspiring authors?
To aspiring authors, I'd say take some quiet time to envision what you'd like to write and share with the world. Don't be afraid to start, even if you're scared. Take it day by day, and you'll discover that the end of a project is always greater than the beginning.
